At this time of year we are most grateful for the many folks who have blessed these many faces of Zambia…providing support and prayers for the ongoing work of Stir the Fire Ministries.
This year, though rough, has shown God working to keep ‘the lights on’ in the STF school. Just as school closures were witnessed in the US, Zambia also forced closures on our school. Children were still allowed to come for their new meal as part of the feeding program but had to take their meal with them. Within a few months it was obvious that no children or teacher had succumbed to COVID, so Stir the Fire School reopened.
The feeding program is now feeding as many as 500 children daily. What a blessing that empty tummies are being filled daily!
Academic Accolades
We have been so proud of our 7th grade graduating class at Stir the Fire Academy in Zambia. Well now we’re really going to brag!
In the Ndola school district, representing a community of over a half million people, these 22 students aced their 7th-grade exams to graduate to 8th grade, the ONLY school in the district to accomplish this!! We are so proud of the staff and students!
This caught the attention of the administrators, and STF school has received accolades and is now being asked to take on the failing students from the nearby schools.
We would covet your prayers in proceeding properly to keep our focus on the health and education of our orphans and to welcome these new students under the umbrella of our Christian school where they can hopefully flourish academically but also receive a solid Christian foundation.
In what other ways are we counting our blessings?
- Our teachers are dedicated and meeting the needs of the student daily.
- The garden is thriving and thus helping us to break the cycle of malnutrition that is prominent in the orphans.
- Pastor John has continued to lead with a strong vision, despite some health setbacks recently.
- People like you have come alongside the ministry with prayers and financial assistance.
- We are able to create a life of possibilities one child at a time!
God bless you for your love and support of this vital work. Together we can make a difference.
